FJWU Organizes Faculty Development Training Workshop on Curriculum Development with Partner Universities of KPK Province
Pleased to announce the completion of faculty development virtual training workshop on Curriculum Development under a US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grants Program (UPGP) funded by US Government and administered by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). The project titled “Strengthening Teaching & Research Capacity in Pakistani Universities through Collaborative Partnership in Social Sciences” is awarded to Dr. Aneela Maqsood, Associate Professor, Department of Behavioral Sciences, in capacity of Principal Investigator. Dr. Saima Hamid, Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Women University is the project advisor. The capacity building training is based on objectives to equip university faculty with teaching pedagogical skills for critical classroom engagement and effective learning outcomes.
The training was held with 2 partner universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa namely Women University, Swabi and Hazara University, Mansehra. Brig. Prof. Dr. Tanvir Akhtar, SI (M) (Director Counselling, HOD Psychology Department, Foundation University) inaugurated the opening ceremony of the workshop as Chief Guest.
The workshop modules are based on Faculty Development Framework developed under the project. The training focused on designing the comprehensive course outlines considering the requirements of online and face to face teaching, blended learning, innovative teaching pedagogical strategies, curriculum evaluation in higher education, and incorporating global aspects in upgrading the curricula. The training received exceptional feedback in context of implementation in curriculum of social sciences and a host of classroom teaching skills emerging from the disciplines of educational and school psychology, management sciences and information technology.
