Mission
The Department of Economics aims at development-oriented applied education in Economics at par with the best educational institutions around the world, with a specific focus on issues pertaining to Pakistan. We endeavor to deliver conceptual learning, preparing students for higher degrees with a strong background in theory and application of the discipline through rigorous curriculum, class activities, and research. Further, students are introduced to the job market through internship experience. Above all, the department focuses on the personal development of students, which would help them in planning a better professional and academic future for themselves and also in becoming better citizens of this world. Potential careers include economic consulting, academia, research at government agencies, private institutes, and renowned think tanks, and the banking sector, to name a few.
