Behavioral Sciences Department Hosted a Session in Collaboration with Population Welfare Department Punjab, District Rawalpindi

The department of Behavioral Sciences organized a session on ‘Medical Problems in Adolescents’ in Collaboration with Population Welfare Department Punjab, District Rawalpindi. The speaker Dr. Afra Saeed, Women Medical Officer (WMO), Benazir Bhutto Hospital (Rawalpindi) talked about common medical problems faced during adolescence and young age e.g., acne and menstruation pain. The session thoroughly focused on the role of population growth and mothers’ health along with associated socioeconomic problems of the Country. Dr Huma Jhangir (Medical officer FJWU) discussed the hygienic issues during puberty phases. Dr Irum Gul (AP BHS) talked about myths associated with menstrual period.  The session stimulated discussion on healthy mothers and the role of Government hospitals in providing quality care.

 

Dr Aneela Maqsood (HoD BHS and focal person of the event), pointed out the need to conduct session on maintaining healthy pregnancies.
