Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have completed 16 years of education in Islamic Studies (MA/BS or equivalent) with at least 1st division or a minimum CGPA of 2.5 from an HEC-recognized university. Applicants must also qualify the departmental admission test with at least 50% marks or provide a valid GAT (General) score as per university requirements.
Degree Completion Requirements
To qualify for the award of an MPhil degree in Islamic Studies, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Completion of all prescribed coursework, including core and optional courses, within the first two semesters.
- Successful completion of a research thesis of 6 credit hours under faculty supervision.
- Compliance with HEC and university guidelines for research, evaluation, and thesis defense.
- Maintenance of the minimum required CGPA as prescribed by university regulations.
- Fulfillment of attendance and academic requirements throughout the program duration.
HEC Credit Hours Requirement
HEC Credit Hours Requirement = 30 Credit Hours (minimum)

- Qur’anic Interpretation (Tafseer)
- Hadith Methodology (Riwaya & Diraya)
- Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh)
- Advanced Research Methodology
Optional Areas:
Seerah Historiography, Islam and Orientalism, World Religions, Contemporary Muslim Thought, Islamic Law Reforms, Islamic Culture & Civilization, Islamic Economics, Muslim Diaspora and Political Thought
