International Webinar on Action Research Global Center for Innovation and Learning, USA December 14, 2020 @ 6pm PST
The department of Education is offering an International Webinar in collaboration with the Global Center for Innovation and Learning, USA on Action Research for graduate students and faculty of Fatima Jinnah Women University.
Goals of the Webinar:
Specific goals of this webinar are to help participants do the following:
- Define and explain Action Research.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to use the recursive nature of Action Research to improve their work practice.
- Provide examples of the Action Research process in action.
Facilitators:
Amy Pallangyo: Amy is our Technical Advisor on Education leading our educational efforts around the world. She has more than 25 years of experience working in education, program development, and international program implementation, with a focus on literacy, integrated programming, and government capacity building, and crosscutting social development models.
Sakil Malik: Sakil Malik, a veteran of work in international development, is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Center for Innovation and Learning. He has served as Vice President of Global Development at World Learning Inc., and Director for the Reading within Reach (REACH) Project and Global Reading Network (GRN) funded by USAID recently.
Benefits: Real-life examples of Action Research projects focused on instruction in diverse classroom settings along with an easy to follow step-by-step process for implementation will be presented. The process for Action Research will be unpacked to help participants clearly understand Action Research and the skills needed to conduct it. In addition, the participants will be able to examine the principles of Action Research at their own pace, interactive exercises will allow the participants to practice the basic processes for implementing Action Research.
