Programs and Segments

Radio VOW 96.6Mhz at Fatima Jinnah Women University Campus Radio Station serves as Community Radio (non-profit organization) and Training Platform for the University Students.Its motto is

Information, Education, Entertainment for the women, of the women, by the women.

The department of Communication Science has collaborated with USAID and Internews International to establish FJWU campus Radio. The Radio started its test transmission on February 23, 2006; while regular transmission was started from August 14, 2006. In January 2008, Radio VOW increased its live transmission time from 2 hrs 30 min to 3 hrs. The radio broadcasts live transmissions starts at 1200 hrs to 1500 hrs five days a week (Monday to Friday).

The Production Crew consistes of one Sr.Producer (Advisor), Producer and Assistant Producer.

FJWU bradcasts five to six recorded informative programs on regular basis (mostly co-produced by the University students and the Radio Producers). Students from all departments of the University are given basic training programs to produce community radio programs which can benefit the society.

Radio VOW FM 96.6Mhz carries news and information based programs towards a local area, particularly targetted at youth, students and women. Other than the regular progams, recorded programs for lectures, seminars, workshops and events are also organised.
