The center aims to develop
international and collaborative research,
and provide expert opinion to private and
government sectors in the fields of, Personnel
selection, Measuring Attitude and Public Opinion,
Career Counseling, Psychological Test construction,
Psychological Assessment, counseling and guidance,
and community Mental Health programs.Fatima
Jinnah Women University (FJWU), the first
Women University in Pakistan became functional
in Dec 1998. FJWU offers range of range of
programs in Higher Education training and
research to Pakistani women, with a strong
focus on marketable skills. Masters and Ph.D.
Programs in the Behavioral Sciences, is unique,
as it is the first program of its kind.
The students are trained in
a wide range of diagnostics and therapeutic
intervention techniques. Their training includes
an intensive assessment and evaluation using
a wide range of tools, ranging from basic
achievement and intelligence assessment to
specialized neuropsychological evaluation
and interpretation.
To provide adequate training
for students to become fully equipped and
trained with the understanding of human behavior
and mental processes in terms of neuropsychological
and behavior-environmental settings, FJWU
has developed Centre for Psychological Research,
which aims to provide high quality research
by training research scholars in the field
of Behavioral Sciences.
The Center for Psychological
Research has an excellent library and protocols
of Psychological, neuropsychological, achievement,
memory, and developmental tests which have
been used by our students and faculty.
Psychological Tests are developed
to measure personal attributes, traits or
characteristics requiring written, visual
or verbal responses. These are then used for
formal assessments/evaluations of the cognitive
and emotional functioning of children and
adults.
Psychological Tests are used
to measure differences between individuals
or between the reactions of the same individual
on different occasions.
Behavioral Sciences students
are provided training in such a manner that
they can understand behavior and pathology
from neuroscientific, sociological and as
well as from psychological aspect. For this
purpose psychological tests are used to assess
a variety of mental abilities and attributes,
including achievement and ability, personality
and neurological functioning.
By the time our students graduate,
they are well conversant in tools for assessment
and interpretation of a wide range of behaviors
