In October 2002, the center in Collaboration with UNESCO organized a “Seminar and Training Workshop on Conflict Resolution in South Asia with Gender Perspective”. One hundred and fifty participants including 22 delegates from various universities attended the seminar. The training was conducted for faculty of public and private universities by Prof. Betty Rearden, Founder Director, Peace Institute. Columbia University, U.S.A.
The center also conducted a two days Workshop on “Gender Sensitization for Punjab Police College Sihala” in June 2002.
Workshop on conflict resolution was conducted in April 2004 by Ms. Flaurie Storie, Project Director, Citizen Rights and Responsibilities, Pakistan (CRRP) for training women in higher education.
The first international workshop on "Training the Trainers: Women in Higher Education and Management" was successfully held in November 2002. It was sponsered by British Council and Association of Common Wealth Universities.
The Center conducted two training workshops on "Women in Higher Education and Management" in collaboration with British Council in Islamabad. The first workshop was held in bahauddin Zakria University, Multan on April 4th and 5th, 2003 and second workshop of the same series was held at university of Balochistan Quetta, from 19th to 20th November 2003.
DDS department in collaboration with peace studies department, univeristy of Bradford as part of the INSPIRE grant by the British Council, is establishing a research Center for peace and security. This research center will conduct and publish researches on issues of peace and security with national and international collaborations and will provide our studentsand faculty an opportunity to research on issues of national and international importance. |
