FJWU Library's Book Collection The library began with book donations from such organizations as the Information Resource Center of the American Embassy, the British Council, the Canadian High Commission, the Asia Foundation, the World Bank, USIS, Ministry of Women Development and Women Study Centers from all around the world. Since then it has dramatically grown in size and, as of April 2008, has expanded its book collection to almost 23,000 books. This number does not include the thousands of journals, magazines, government documents, reports, etc. located in the Periodical Room collection. The non-book collection contains over 1,200 items and includes CD-ROMs, DVDs, VHS tapes, floppy disks, maps and other miscellaneous items.
The library is currently comprised of four main areas covering an 11,000 sq feet area: the large Main Room, the Reading Room/Computer Lab, the Periodicals Room, and the Thesis Room.
