Fatima Jinnah Women University, the first Public Sector University for women, established in1998. In a short span of six years it has become one of the leading institutions of the country. This has been achieved as a result of its vision and quality of programs. The higher education sector in Pakistan is rapidly growing and its growth is supported by the vision of president Mushuraf, Prime Minister and Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) where the fund allocation for higher education has been doubled every year.
In response to the directive No-4-7/CHR/HEC/04/151 from the HEC dated January 17, 2005 a Center for Collaboration and Linkage (CCL) is established, which comprises of the following members.
CCL aims to build functional and mutually beneficial relations with international institutions. Globalization in higher education has lead to linkages, a process of convergence particularly in the systemization of world knowledge in an infusion of ideas, people and resources. The future demands great strategic alliance resulting in sharing resources hence joint research and collaboration. In view of rapid expansion of higher education, universities are reaching out to share knowledge, expertise and other resources across borders and across continents.
