Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Admissions in Faima Jinnah Women University are as follows:

  • When do the Admissions open?
    Admissions to Bachelor’s and Master’s Program open around July.
  • Are admissions advertised?
    Admissions are advertised in all the leading Urdu and English newspapers.
  • How many disciplines / subjects are being offered at Master’s level? What are the Pre Requisites?
    There are 13 Departments at Master’s Level. These Departments are also available in Self Support Program, which is advertised simultaneously with the Regular Program.For datails Click Here...
  • What is the time duration for Master’s degree?
    The Time duration for Master’s degree is almost 2 ½ years.(In accordance with HEC Scheme of Studies the duration of MBA Program for students with 14 years of education is 3.5 years).
  • How many semesters are there at Master’s level?
    At present, there are five semesters required for the Master’s degree.
  • What is the minimum required percentage for admission?
    Minimum II division (45 %) is required to be considered for admission at Master’s and Bachelor’s levels, however BS (SE) (Bachelor in Software Engineering) requires 1st Division, percentage requirement for Self-Support Program is the same as for the Regular Program.
  • Can the result-awaiting students apply for admissions?
    Yes, they can apply. For this they must submit the form by the due date and Detailed Mark Sheet may be submitted by the late result deadline given in the advertisement.
  • From where can the Prospectus be obtained?
    The Prospectus (with form) can be obtained from the authorized branches of First Women Bank, whereas Bachelor’s forms with prospectus can be obtained from BoP.
  • What is the price of each prospectus?
    The price for each copy is Rs.750/-.
  • How many disciplines (subjects) are offered at Under Graduate level and what is the Pre-Requisite for these?
    There are 16 disciplines offered at Under Graduate level. These Departments are also offered / available in Self Support Program, which is advertised simultaneously with the Regular Program. The pre-requisites are common to both programs.For datails Click Here...
  • What is the duration of Under Graduate Program?
    The duration of Bachelor’s Program is four years.
  • What is the last date for getting the prospectus?
    The last date for purchase / submission of forms is given in the related advertisement appears in the newspapers and is available on the web site.
  • Do you provide hostel facility?
    Limited hostel facility is available on first come first served basis.
  • Is the hostel situated within the University premises or not?
    The hostels are not far from the campus.
  • Is there any criterion for availing the hostel facility?
    Yes, hostel facility is not available for local students. The distance from the hometown is the first consideration, subject to the availability of the seats.
  • Is there semester system or annual system at FJWU?
    There is a semester system for all Programs.
  • How many semesters are there at under-graduate level?
    As it is a four-year degree program, there are 8 semesters for each discipline.
  • What is the duration for each semester?
    The duration of each semester is 17-18 weeks.
  • What type of test will be required for admission?
    Ans. NTS National Aptitude Test will be obligatory for Entry (NAT –I required for Bachelor’s Program and NAT-II will be required for Master’s Program).
  • What percentage is required in NAT test for Admission?
    A minimum score of 40 in NAT is required to apply for admission in Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs. For further details about NAT, please visit www.nts.org.pk
  • When the final list for successful candidates is displayed?
    The final list for the successful candidates is displayed as per advertised schedule.
  • Does the university display a waiting list?
    Yes, the university displays a waiting list also.
  • What is the last date for the submission of fee for the first merit list?
    Fee is submitted according to the decided scheduled (notified at the head of the Merit List also). All dues are submitted in the First Women Bank branch at FJWU campus.
  • When do the classes for new Session begin?
    The classes will begin in the month of October.
  • Is there any possibility to get admission during the semester?
    No, there is no possibility of getting admissions once the admission close.
  • Do you provide any transport facility?
    No, FJWU does not provide transport facility to the students; however there are many private commuters efficiently operating from different areas of Rawalpindi & Islamabad.
  • What was the last merit for Admissions at FJWU?
    The last merit for admissions at FJWU varies from year to year.
  • Is there any option for private admissions?
    No, there is no option for private admissions at FJWU.
  • When does the M. Phil Leading to Ph. D Admissions open?
    M. Phil Leading to Ph. D admission will open around December.
  • What is the procedure for M. Phil Leading to Ph. D Admissions?
    Admission for M. Phil leading to Ph. D program is advertised once a year in the national newspapers. Admission criteria are in accordance with the Higher Education Commission and are clearly mentioned in the advertisement. Applications are invited and scrutinized and eligible candidates are invited for test/interview.

  • How many disciplines / subjects are being offered at M. Phil Leading to Ph. D?
    The regular M. Phil leading to Ph. D program was launched in December 2009 in the disciplines of English, Environmental Sciences, and Economics.
  • What are the Pre Requisites for M. Phil Leading to Ph. D?
    The  Pre-Requisites are as follows:
  • M. Phil Program:
  • Completion of sixteen years of schooling.
  • Clearance of GAT General conducted by National Testing Service  (minimum pass percentage is revised from time to time)
  • Recommendation of the FJWU selection committee based on the performance of the candidate in the interview and availability of seat.
  • NOC from the employer (if applicable)
    Ph. D Program:
  • For admission into the Ph. D, successful completion of 30 credit hours with minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in M. Phil is required.
  • Clearance of GAT Subject or GRE Subject (minimum pass percentage is revised from time to time)
  • Is there any facility of fee concession?
    Scholarships are available for deserving students.
  • Do you provide scholarship for needy students?
    Yes, FJWU provides Need-Based Scholarship for deserving students.
  • Is there any merit scholarship?
    Yes, FJWU provides merit scholarships for brilliant students.
  • What is the schedule of classes?
    Classes are scheduled between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm both the schedules is displayed on Department notice board.
  • Do you facilitate the married students having children?
    Yes, FJWU provides Day Care facility to the children of married students. Well-trained staff is there to look after the children in an environment of affection and care.
